What is SpaceMan?
SpaceMan is a native desktop app for Windows and macOS that lets you browse, upload, organize, and share files stored in DigitalOcean Spaces, DigitalOcean's S3-compatible object storage. It is the file manager the Spaces web console never was.
Where are my access keys stored?
Locally, in your operating system's secure credential storage: macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. Keys are never sent to or stored on SpaceMan servers, because there are no SpaceMan servers.
Do my files pass through your servers?
No. SpaceMan talks directly to DigitalOcean's Spaces API from your machine. Uploads and downloads travel straight between your computer and DigitalOcean. No proxy, no middleman, no copies.
Is SpaceMan a subscription?
No. SpaceMan costs $29 once, and that includes lifetime updates on both platforms. You keep paying DigitalOcean for storage exactly as before, and SpaceMan adds zero ongoing fees.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows 10 and 11 (x64 and ARM64), and macOS 11 or later (Intel and Apple Silicon). One license covers all of them.
Does it work with Amazon S3 or other providers?
SpaceMan is built exclusively for DigitalOcean Spaces. Focusing on one provider is what lets regions, CDN links, and permissions feel native instead of generic.
